Matthew M. Armbrecht (Attorney)
Matt’s practice includes all aspects of immigration law, as well as commercial and civil litigation, federal appeals, criminal defense, and family law. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is fluent in Russian. Prior to pursuing law Matt was involved with democracy-building initiatives in Southern Russia and in Kyrgyzstan.
Education:
Matt received his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1999, where he graduated with honors. He majored in Russian Language and Literature at Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin, where he received his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in 1991.

Jerzy “Jurek” T. Guzior (Attorney)
Jerzy’s practice is primarily focused on immigration, but also includes criminal defense, and international commercial transactions. In 1995, he joined the Polish law firm of Soltysinski Kawecko Szlezak, where he practiced in the area of international business transactions. Upon returning to the United States, he worked as a public defender in Ramsey County, Minnesota. Since 1997, his practice focuses on immigration law. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Jerzy is fluent in Russian and Polish.
Education:
Jerzy received his Juris Doctor from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1994. He received his Master of Law from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland in 1986.

Timothy R. Maher (Attorney)
Tim’s practice includes commercial and civil litigation, corporate law, criminal defense, transactional law, real estate, trademark and estate planning. He is former law clerk to Federal District Court Judge Joan E. Lancaster and Hennepin County District Court Judge Franklin J. Knoll. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He is the Board Chairperson of Soul Academy, a K-5 Charter School located in Minneapolis, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Larry Brown Youth Education Corporation.

Tim received his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1999, where he graduated with honors. He received a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina in 1996. He received a Bachelor of Arts from St. John’’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1993.

Lisa Reiter (Legal Assistant)
Education:
Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with a Major in International Relations and Minors in Spanish and History. She studied in Guadalajara, Mexico, and interned in Mexico City. Prior to joining Guzior Armbrecht Maher, she worked at the Minnesota Department of Employee Relations. She plays the piano with the worship team at Puente de Vida church in Maplewood and the cumbia group Sonora Café. Lisa is fluent in Spanish.
